The Importance of Earth Science

Earth Science helps us understand the dynamic planet we call home. From plate tectonics and natural hazards to weather systems, climate patterns, and Earth’s history recorded in rocks and fossils, this course empowers students to make sense of the world around them. By developing skills in data analysis, modeling, and evidence-based reasoning, students learn not only how Earth’s systems interact, but also how human activity influences those systems. Studying Earth Science builds scientifically literate individuals who can think critically about environmental challenges, natural resources, and the future of our planet.
